Business Description
Our client is offering full rights, which includes two patents and nominal existing customer base to a multi-frequency electronic tuning fork. Clinicians can test patient’s sensation with the three most used frequencies in medicine: 64, 128 and 256 Hz. This multi-frequency instrument saves time and money by essentially integrating three tuning forks into one.
Physicians have long known that 128 Hz tuning fork is the most sensitive of the commonly used neurological screening tests available in clinical practice. Our client’s electronic tuning fork builds on this foundation and takes it to the next level. Our client’s patented technology does this by electronically reproducing the most valuable features of the traditional tuning fork.
The improved accuracy and reproducibility afforded by this approach has been combined with an integrated timing function. The result is a modern medical instrument allowing physicians to diagnose diabetic peripheral neuropathy (DPN) at earlier stages. Prompt diagnosis of this condition is critical as neuropathy is known to be the key precursor leading to foot ulcers, infections, and amputations. Armed with our client’s product, physicians will be able to more rapidly implement preventative strategies aimed at reducing limb loss.
Features/Benefits
• First medical-grade multi-frequency Electronic Tuning Fork
• Ideal for assessment and tracking of pedal diabetic peripheral neuropathy, entrapment neuropathy, carpal tunnel, radiculopathy, fall risk, pre-/post-operative nerve release
• Standardized timed vibration testing between patients and providers
• Quantitative documentation for EMR requirements
• Three vibration amplitude modes: Descending, Ascending, Constant
• Two additional functions for 128Hz mode: Fracture Test and Vibroception Average
• Two additional functions for 128Hz mode: Fracture Test and Vibroception Average
• Simple ergonomic design
Our client’s product has the advantage of being an electronic instrument capable of reproducing the same vibratory output with each use. Traditional tuning forks may be struck with varying force resulting in variable outputs. The ETF also has an integrated timing function allowing highly accurate timed vibration tests. The timed vibration test adds a quantitative feature simply not available in other tuning forks. This combination of improvements transforms the traditional tuning fork into a truly 21st century medical instrument.
Our client has patented the technology but has not yet started manufacturing or direct sales.
