Business Description
Detailed Information
Our client’s patented, innovative product deals with the following issue: Because the use of mesh slings for Stress Urinary Incontinence (SUI), SUI is under serious clinical, regulatory, and legal scrutiny during the last years, our client developed a solution; the removable sling.
The major difference of all versions of our client’s removable sling is its easy removability based on its design inducing the natural encapsulation around their monofilament wires or its interconnected narrow and flat strips. This encapsulation allows its easy removability.
The product comes in 3 versions:
# Weaved version # Detachable flat version # Inflatable version for adjustment of the sub-urethral support
The weaved version of the sling looks similar to the currently available synthetic slings and can be made from the same materials.
However, there are some significant differences: differing from all the other available slings, our client’s products are not knitted , they are weaved making them more flexible and thinner.
Our client’s patents cover all 3 versions of the invention as well as the possibility of creating a partially removable mesh for POP repair.
According to the developer: In the dynamic Healthcare industry, the intense competition and the flow of novel technologies, the ability to enter with new product ideas to solve the problems of existing technologies is particularly important. This product is an excellent example for such a “problem solver. “
All over the world there were tens of sub-urethral sling producers. The restrictions applied for the mesh to the POP repairs by the FDA affected many producers that had to pay millions of dollars as compensations to patients who developed complications. For this reason, many of sub-urethral sling producers stopped using their technologies and left the POP Repair as well as the sling market.
A longer version of our client’s product can be used for supporting a leaking anal sphincter. Differing from other products which cannot be removed our client’s product has the major advantage of removability.
The Company has secured nominal sales and distribution thusfar on his own and is looking for some larger medical sales organization to scale the platform farther than he has taken it himself.
